The mother of pearl is created from the thickest part of an oyster shell. This raw material, also used to create cultured pearls, is known as a "mother of pearl bead" and is meticulously cut and polished to its final shape. This modern production process uses highly durable man-made nacre material to replace the nacre layers of traditional cultured pearls. This AAA-grade shell pearl offers long-lasting shine and color.
