A very cool, large vintage locket, modeled realistically, as a globe, in 14k rose and yellow gold. This three-dimensional model of our earth is decorated with contrasting finishes— the yellow gold seas shimmer, thanks toa beautifully-executed, cross-hatched Florentine finish, and the rose gold continents are finished with a bright, high polish. This weighty locket is hinged atits equator. It opens to reveal a series of three, two-sided, gold locket frames that, themselves hinged together, expand like an accordionor fold neatly flat. There is also room inside the locket compartment for small objects— a lock of hair, baby teeth, a small note, etc. This locket closes with a ball and foot locking clasp. It hangs from an oversized jump ring. This is in outstanding condition! All of the moving parts are tight and functioning admirably. Marked Italy, 585, and with a maker's cartouche. This wears well on a long, weighty chain—it would be a wonderful longest layer in an arrangement of necklaces.
